Kepler-62E Water

Kepler-62E Water. The planet is an exciting find to exoplanet researchers because it is close in size to earth, and also orbits in the habitable region of its star (which is smaller and dimmer. They were found by nasa's kepler spacecraft, which detects planets that transit or cross the face of their host star.

It is located within the habitable zone of it's host star. Only the size, not the mass of planets in this system is known. They theorize that the two water worlds are either liquid all the way down to their core or have a solid surface just beneath a shallower ocean.

Learn about the kepler 62e exoplanet which lies in the habitable zone of its parent star, kepler 62.

Learn about the kepler 62e exoplanet which lies in the habitable zone of its parent star, kepler 62. Measuring a transit tells astronomers the size of the planet relative to its star. Thus, it'd be hot and humid from the poles to the equator. What is known about the planet is that it is about 60 percent larger than earth, placing it in a class of planets dubbed super.
